Water and other vapour problems cost the UK billions of pounds every year.

They cause corrosion, short shelf-life, jammed equipment, poor print quality, failed electronics and many other issues including leaky seals, barriers, pipes or enclosures.

There is no perfect solution, but Versaperm can often improve, dramatically, on the problem as its systems can measure vapour permeability for any product, component, material or system – against not only water vapour but also hydrocarbons, oxygen, carbon dioxide and every other non-restricted gas or vapour combination currently available.

The equipment can be used for development, testing and quality control (QC), including in-line QC.

As well problems with materials, manufacturing processes such as heating, bending or thermoforming can substantially change the flow of vapour through a material – often quadrupling it. Simply changing materials can make many thousands of times difference to the results.

Versaperm's laboratory and QC equipment offers a quick and simple way to quantify the problem and develop practical solutions.  It is accurate in the Parts Per Million (PPM) to PPB ranges, in some cases taking just 30 minutes to give a result. The system can even measure a mixture of material samples, seals, enclosures or products at the same time.

The company also runs a technical consultancy and a laboratory testing service.
